Insurance and Payment

Traverse Recovery Center works with several private and employer-sponsored health plans. Your insurance card alone cannot tell you what residential care, PHP, or IOP will cost. We review the specific plan, network, authorization rules, and your share of the bill before you decide.

Which insurers does TRC work with?

TRC works with UnitedHealthcare, University of Utah Health Plans, UMR, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Molina, Cigna, and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Each insurer has different products and networks. We need to review your exact plan before saying what it covers or whether TRC is in network for you.

What will you need for a benefits check?

Have your insurance card ready if you can. A benefits review may look at network status, the covered level of care, prior authorization, deductible, copays or coinsurance, and any remaining out-of-pocket limit. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism recommends asking which services are covered and which may be billed separately.

Can you use insurance and cash together?

Many people pay a portion themselves even when insurance covers part of treatment. Ask admissions to explain the expected patient share and any charges not covered by the plan. Cash payment can also be discussed. We do not publish a flat price because the level of care and individual plan can change the amount.

Does TRC accept Medicaid?

No. TRC does not accept Medicaid. That includes Medicaid products issued by a company whose commercial plans we may work with. If you need Medicaid-funded treatment, we can help you explore placement with a nearby facility in American Fork that accepts it.

Questions people ask

Does a listed insurer guarantee coverage?

No. Coverage depends on your specific plan, network, medical necessity, and any required authorization.

Is UMR the same as UnitedHealthcare?

UMR administers different employer plans. We must check the exact plan even if your card carries a familiar insurer name.

Will you tell me what I may owe?

Ask admissions for a plan-specific explanation of expected out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.
