IOP is a structured outpatient option for people who need ongoing treatment but do not need residential care or the fuller daytime schedule of PHP. It may follow either program, or be a starting point when an assessment shows that a person can manage safely outside treatment hours.
IOP may fit someone with a stable place to live who needs more support than ordinary outpatient visits. It can also help a person practice new routines while returning to work, family, and other responsibilities. That flexibility does not make it the right starting point for everyone.
PHP usually takes more of the week. IOP generally requires fewer treatment hours. Ask admissions for the current days and times for each program. Compare PHP.
An assessment may point toward PHP or residential care when outpatient support is not enough. If withdrawal needs medical supervision, detox is arranged with a partner provider before the appropriate next step. TRC does not run an on-site detox unit.
Ask where sessions take place, how many hours are expected, how individual and group work are arranged, and whether your insurance plan requires approval. If work is part of your planning, ask about the actual schedule and device rules instead of assuming you can take calls during sessions.
Start with admissions. We can discuss an assessment, review payment options, and explain whether IOP is likely to be enough support for your situation. See the admissions process.
IOP may leave more room for work than PHP or residential care, but confirm the actual schedule before making plans.
Possibly. An assessment should determine whether IOP is appropriate.
Please confirm the current IOP location with admissions. The 12-bed fact applies to residential care.
Tell us what you are facing. We can discuss an assessment, the care options, and how to check payment before you decide.
