Residential treatment means living at the program while receiving structured support. Outpatient care lets you live elsewhere while attending treatment. TRC offers residential care, PHP, and IOP. An assessment looks at safety, withdrawal risk, current symptoms, and support outside treatment before recommending a starting point.
Residential care removes the daily trip between treatment and home. At TRC, residents live at the 12-bed Bluffdale center. This can help when the home environment makes recovery harder or when someone needs more structure. It also means planning time away from usual responsibilities.
Both are outpatient options, so clients do not live at the center. PHP generally fills more of the week; IOP takes fewer treatment hours. Exact TRC schedules and locations should be confirmed with admissions. Read about PHP and read about IOP.
Need for medical withdrawal care, safety at home, current mental health symptoms, previous treatment, and ability to attend sessions all matter. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism describes these levels and says a complete assessment guides the choice.
Yes. Someone may move from residential care into PHP or IOP as needs change. Another person may need more support than outpatient care offers. The plan should be reviewed with the treatment team, not fixed by a label on the first day.
Medical detox is a different service. TRC does not provide it at the Bluffdale residence. We work with partner providers to arrange placement within 24 hours when appropriate and available, then discuss the next treatment setting.
Both involve an overnight stay, but hospital inpatient services can provide a different level of medical care. TRC provides residential care, not on-site medical detox.
Possibly. An assessment should determine whether it provides enough support.
Clinical need guides the recommendation. Coverage and authorization must also be checked for the specific plan.
Tell us what you are facing. We can discuss an assessment, the care options, and how to check payment before you decide.
